Edgar loves to talk about the shop he runs together with his family: Cubiñá, in the eixample of Barcelona. A fantastic showroom of furniture, interior design and lighting located in a restored modernist building, known as Casa Thomas, designed by Doménech and Montaner in the 19th century.

Edgar is the fourth generation Cubiñá and rests on his shoulders the responsibility of maintaining this centennial project linked to the world of design. Says that he takes it well, that “being a reference of the design does not intimidate, but it allows to work with the best and learn from architects and consecrated designers, he smiles, “yes, from time to time when I get home I need calm and I’m going to sail. ” We ask “To sail?” He says yes, Edgar lives on a boat.

He could have the dining room with the best furniture, some designer lamps in the room or a bathroom with divine accessories … but he has chosen to live on a boat. “That way I forget about work,” he jokes.

EDGAR CUBINYÀ, BUSINESSMAN

Looks like Edgar is dressed for the occasion, but actually comes from his last business trip to Milan, with his U-Myto suitcase …

He has been visiting the last edition of the Milan Furniture Fair where he has visited the leading decoration and design brands of the world, and has enjoyed the Fuorisaloni, where the coolest events take place. Before taking the plane he tells us that he has made a pitstop at the Bar Basso (Via Plinio, 39), “which presumes to have introduced the appetizer into the habits of the Milanese with the invention, in the glorious sixties, of the negroni sbagliato : Cava brut, red Martini, Campari and a half slice of orange.

“Maybe the most stylish product I have at home is my U-Myto suitcase.” This suitcase is super lightweight, sturdy and stylish. And he confesses that it is going great for him to use it when the ship arrives at port.
