SAONA, MEDITERRANEAN ESSENCE

maleta saona

…without realizing it, today I am answering this interview from my van, watching the sea from the window…

The lifestyle that makes us dream in motion.

Jordi is a Product Manager during the weekdays and an adventurer on the weekends. He’s a born explorer, someone
who prefers backroads over established routes and sees every detour as an opportunity to discover something new.
His style is free, bohemian, and his days are spent stopping at hidden beaches, having breakfast with views, and sleeping under a starry sky. The van is his home in motion, equipped to carry the essentials without sacrificing comfort.

By his side is his adventure companion, Laure, a Frenchwoman and owner of a global mobility agency for expatriates. She loves the sea and finds inspiration in the depths of he Mediterranean. Together, they form a couple that seeks not only destinations but experiences: the road and the sea as the backdrop to their life on the move.

If the Mediterranean is a lifestyle, a philosophy, and a promise of freedom, it is now also a suitcase collection inspired by its colors, textures, and history. The road, the …without realizing it, today I am answering this interview from my

travel with this new line of suitcases, which carries the charm of the coast in every detail. These suitcases are not just travel companions; they capture the essence of a life on the road, with stops at secret corners and views waiting to be discovered.

The Mediterranean philosophy in motion

The converted van has become a symbol of freedom and style, equipped with everything needed for a luxury trip: compact kitchens, comfortable beds, and space to carry the essentials (without losing any glamour, of course). So, as you cross fishing villages and golden hills, you can take a break, open the door, and enjoy a glass of wine with a view of the sea. Because here, what matters is not just the destination, but the journey.

The Mediterranean is more than a destination: it’s a way of seeing the world and traveling. Inspired by this philosophy, this new suitcase collection captures the simplicity, elegance, and spirit of a sea with a rich history.
Lonely cliffs, hidden beaches, and historic villages, painted in ochre and blue tones. The mix of sandy colors and intense blues evokes the contrast between the coast and the sky.

Saona by Gladiator not only captures the colors and calm of the Mediterranean, but it also pays tribute to the spirit of bravery and adventure that defines journeys across its waters. The suitcases feature a unique and distinctive engraving of spears and helmets, characteristic of the brand. This embossed detail is a mark of identity for the modern traveler, a visual reminder that, like the gladiators of ancient times, adventure and the conquest of new territories are part of their essence.

As for the routes, I prefer to improvise. I believe that’s where the most authentic impulses manifest. I think that if you leave home with a very fixed idea, you can miss out on lots of opportunities that arise along the way.
“I didn’t know where I was going except to all places,” wrote Jack Kerouac in his legendary On the Road. This is exactly
the feeling that Jordi and Laure often have on the road.

What’s the best and worst part of this way of traveling?

The best part is enjoying the biggest backyard you’ll ever have, one that’s always changing. The worst part is that if you crash, you crash both your home and your car, all at once.
